The Nutshell Game: Part 4
The fourth part of the blog “Nutshell” I will talk to you about the new developments of the game. This blog is a milestone for me because I never thought I would write a blog about this, let alone 4. With this reason I am also happy to announce that I am going the game towards an end product. The last version you saw in Part 3 of this blog has been tested several times and have been able to get many out of it to a better whole. These are the changes I made to the new version of “Nutshell”.
The play board

After testing with different groups I found out that some subtle changes had to take place on the board. So you now have nicer boxes with clear icons and more notes in the background. In my opinion, the overall design of the board has become a lot better and fits more and more. So you can see the pattern of the cards now also in the crisis squares and the pawns are also notes that you see everywhere.
Also, the piles of cards have almost tripled! The best thing about a game where you can ask deep questions is when they are not going to be repeated every time. So even now I'm still adding new cards...
Cards
What I can easily say after these weeks of work is that most of the work is still in the cards. You have to make good questions for this and a nice illustration/drawing to make it a whole. And then you have to test this particular card if the question/assignment is fun enough to keep it in the game. Every question does something different, and what I don't want is to bring out annoying feelings. This is something you can't know but can take into account. For example, I don't put questions into it about being controversial like faith or choosing between two impossible choices. Where I do aim to get to know each other better in a fun way, who were you and how do you get to where you are now and where do you want to go in the end? Below I show you some new maps with this vision in the picture.
