The Zwin is a nature reserve on the Flemish coast.

The Zwinvlakte is a unique biotope, subject to the tidal effect of the North Sea.


It is rightly called “The international airport of birds”. It is one coming and going of dozens of bird species, which migrate south in autumn while other species from the North come to winter here.

Some parts of this natural park are unreachable due to the surrounding water. As a result, they are ideal breeding grounds.
