ā€œšŸŽ¶ oooh lie - ve sint - nico - laas šŸŽµ. Yes, that's this Saint!

I know this saint as the best. As my own father šŸ˜Š.
For a few years, my father has been asked to be this sweet man. And she didn't have to ask twice.
What could be better than being allowed to dress up to a sanctiary for one day. To enjoy the entry with a boat, a full quay with children, parents, grandmothers and grandmothers. Where you are sung by hundreds of children.
And they all come for ā€œyour father ā€œ...
Great!
He enjoyed it so much...

Unfortunately, I could not be there in previous years because I still lived abroad. I had to do it remotely with nice pictures and
movies. Luckily I was back in the Netherlands last year šŸ™‚. This picture was taken then. I was just a few months pregnant.
It was a beautiful sunny day and busy that it was, everywhere children were waiting full of excitement, drawings firmly in their hands, on the nerves. The pieten danced to music, did tricks, ran around and handed out all goodies.
For me, even as an adult, this was a nice memory to experience this day and especially this Saint.

It reminded me of my own childhood again. The exciting moment to see Saint Nicholas, the songs you sang in the evening, the shoe you put and it can't wait in the morning if there was something in it... A good time then. I hope to give this to my baby too.
