Het tweede deel van deze dag bracht ons via ringweg 1 bij Jökulsárlón: het grote gletsjermeer.
Het gletsjermeer ligt aan het eind van de Vatnajökulgletsjer, de grootste gletsjer die IJsland rijk is.
Deze beslaat maar liefst 8% van het hele eiland.
Onderweg heb je al vaak uitzicht op de enorme gletsjer, en diverse zijweggetjes lijken je er naartoe te leiden, maar je komt er echt niet goed bij.

fantastic weather! Have you ever seen any of those ice balls? that are rounded by the sea? I also think the ringing is great to hear.! Recently saw a trip, 5000 euro per person for 10 days. but wait until the four of us no longer go on vacation. Although, I would like to give this to my kids.
@ellesvandenbroek Most ice chunks are already somewhat rounded, which is why it is so dangerous to stand up, and also because they can drift very quickly towards the sea. 5000 euro per person for 10 days is ridiculous! We don't pay that for two and a half... Show more
