Wearing corsages at a wedding
Do you know how it's supposed to be? That little flower on your party dress, that's for decoration at a wedding? Previously (very earlier) the man took a corsage with him, when he took a woman out. He wanted to know in advance what color dress she was going to wear, because the small bouquet had to fit in color. Nowadays this is of course (unfortunately) no longer!
The corsage is now worn at weddings. The guests are pinned up a corsage. That's what the master of ceremonies or wedding planner does. Women are given a corsage in which there are a few flowers from the wedding bouquet. The corsages in women must be pinned with the peduncles up!! Women are also allowed to wear it somewhere else, where it suits them best. So on the wrist or on your belt, for example.
With the men, it's a little different. The men only get one flower! And the flower is worn LEFT on the lapel, with the flower UP! As you can see in the right picture above, not many people know, how the actual etiquette is. Fie, hear me! :)
