Healthy food, because just go to Mc Donalds with 5 people and I'll lose 50 euro in no time. For that 50 euro, I get fresh vegetables and meat for the whole week. Then it will be a simple meal with vegetables, potatoes and sometimes meat, but it is always cheaper than 1x 50 euro in fast food.

Show moreWhen you buy local fresh vegetables or harvest them yourself from your garden and cut and process them, that food is cheaper, BUT when you have the already processed (cleaned, rinsed, cut,.) buys vegetables, it's already getting more expensive. Not to mention healthy salads or a sandwich with something healthy in between that you buy somewhere.
For example, when I buy a fast food hamburger menu, a promotion currently costs me around 5 euros; if I have to buy all the ingredients, I lose a lot more. If I also go for a healthier sandwich with organic vegetables and certified organic meat, the price is enormous.
If I just look at plant-based milk products, they are much more expensive than regular milk. Healthy alternatives should be made much cheaper, I think.
When you include health, I also see things differently. Suppose I eat healthy every day, usually drink tap water and spend money on better organic products, and I'm never really sick either. As a result, my body has no problems and I therefore have no medical costs. My best friend spends money on fast food, soft drinks and takes a pill regularly because he already has problems with his stomach and intestines. By the time we're both 60, I'm still healthy and still have no medical costs. He has already had a few surgeries on his stomach, so his doctor costs are adding up and eventually his unhealthy lifestyle will cost more money than mine. BUT. when we were 25, we both died in an accident, so the costs for our food are a lot lower when it comes to the unhealthier lifestyle.
In your context, eating healthy is cheaper. I chose fast food though, because it's literally cheaper. In the long run, no. But it still makes you think why healthy food is more expensive. The world turned upside down.
It is a misconception that unhealthy food would be cheap. Cheap compared to a decent restaurant, yes, but a home-made fresh meal is always much cheaper.
And healthy food often immediately creates the image of expensive products and superfoods, but a simple cucumber, fresh beetroot, is also super healthy!
