Not so long ago, we all watched the news and went
we assume that what the newsreader told us is the absolute truth
were. Or, as my grandmother said,. if it's printed in the paper, it's true.
However, that was in the pre-social media era, when you haven't talked about every theme

Today, however, you have to take into account FAKE NEWS everywhere. Various
world powers have different opinions. and if you can explain it well enough, everything seems plausible. If you can still stick it with numbers. then you come across as credible, but those numbers are also manipulable.
Often it seems like the loudest voices are the big right. while the silent majority continues silently. Spontaneously, a french phrase comes to mind. ce le derniere qui a parle, qui a reason. But if so, the loudest and the last voices are always CORRECT. or are they sometimes just the mindless, roaring of our society. The truth will be in the middle as time and again.
Keep using your own gray brain mass. after all, you got him for that. Don't take over everything blindly because that minister or scholar said it. Dare to stick your head above the crowd and keep questioning things. there's the real wisdom and that's how you can face fake news. Don't doubt your own logical thinking capacity.

I've known for a long time that what you hear/see on the news is far from always right. In a fatal accident with a ski lift, in Italy, 6 of my friends died. The night on, I got a call from my bed. The media told the next morning that there were no Belgians in the ski lift, just Germans. I knew better.
