winter in the fortress

Friday 13 and Saturday 14 December the old streets of Elburg were rigged again for Winter in the fortress. Friday I didn't have time so I went to the old country on Saturday. In front of the bridge the car parked and further on the folding bike, because you know it will be very crowded and now I could pass the cars that stood in line in front of the parking lot.

Modern art.

What will this work of art be worth?

Unfortunately it started to rain and that didn't stop the first hours. Then it's hard to photograph. My smartphone is waterproof, but with wet hands it becomes difficult to control everything. That's why I have very few pictures. On the other hand it was a lot quieter on the street so I had a better view of beautiful spots.

The monastery chapel.

When my pants were soaked, I walked to the monastery chapel because there are often beautiful performances. With some patience I could go in between two concerts and I kept drying until the locks were turned off again. Meanwhile I was able to enjoy Coraal and the Dickens choir from Epe, accompanied by musicians from Hattem. With accordion, mandolin, lute, drum and guitar.

It all sounded great in this beautiful room. (Therefore, there are also very regular concerts given.) To give you a little bit of an idea, I made some little movies.

Delicious scents.

That's how slowly I got in the mood for something tasty. It smells delicious of poffertjes, stroopwafels, fresh fries and fried fish everywhere. Actually I was looking for the lazy wives, but unfortunately I can't remember where that little house is already standing. So when I came across a very interesting store with coffee tea and chocolate and some tables and chairs I went there to drink a delicious cup of chocolate. Extra pure and nice warm. In the store, I ran into familiar bullets and chocolates. I have withheld myself and not bought anything else, but it is dangerous to know that all that nice is for sale at cycling distance.
