Yoors Flower Parade, day 54

Today in the Flowerparade it is a pity that there is no scent PC yet.
Because the Plectranthus is a deliciously spicy fragrant plant.
The Plectranthus is a tropical plant that is grown as a tub plant.

In the Achterhoek the plant is also called Reumaplant, the reason for this name is unknown to me (and my father).
I also recently spoke to someone who called the plant splendid nettle.
I'll keep it on Plectranthus, that name is official.

The Plectranthus is a so-called short-day plant.
This means that the plant will make buds when the days have less daylight than dark.
Less than 12 hours of daylight is the period when the buds are formed and the plant starts to bloom.

The Plectranthus blooms in September, with beautifully colored light purple flowers.
When the light starts to decrease, it looks like the flowers are giving light!
And then the smell... the Plectranthus smells very, you walk a little too close to it for pleasure, to spread the smell.

It's a tub plant, which means it has to hibernate frost-free.
So put it in when it gets colder!
The plant is easy to cuttings, by placing cuttings directly in the potting soil.

The Plectranthus is very popular with bees and bumblebees, as shown in the photo.

I got my first place from my father, who hasn't dictated this text to me yet; -).

Soon I will have big plant news! At the moment, I take a picture of a unique bud every day, of a flower that even my father does not know!
