Today in the Flower Parade, a plant with the beautiful name: Victorious.
Victorious is a plant from the nightshade family (the potato is also a nightshade).
The official name is: Nicandra physalodes, Nicandra for short.

Victorious is an annual plant, which gives purple-blue flowers.
Each flower blooms for one day, after which a fruit is formed.
The fruit looks like a lamp ion, and has a small ball in it.

The fruits are very good to dry, and decorative, as seen in the second photo.
The plant has little demands on the soil, but it must be moist.
The Nicandra is a sun worshiper.

The plant repels flies, but attracts other insects, like bees.
You can sow the plant in spring: in the bulb (which is in the Lampion) there are seeds.
The seeds of the Nicandra remain good for years, and can still germinate with ease after ten years.
