Yoors Flower Parade, day 92

Although it is still winter in our country, it starts to tickle me again to pick up the flower parade.
And that's what I do today with a tree with a crazy name: the wig tree!
The wig tree is officially called: Cotinus coggygria I keep it on wig tree, or at most Cotinus.

The tree owes its name to the inflorescence.
Although I have not seen the tree in bloom often, it blooms very richly in autumn.
The flowers look like huge wigs, hence its name.

You can often find the Wig Tree in municipal plantons, where it stands out for its dark red leaf.
Unfortunately I do not have a picture of this variant, but of the (less common) variant that my father is in the garden.
This tree has green foliage, but also blooms with the well-known wigs.

Although the Wig Tree is a tree, you will soon see it for tall shrub, especially when it is regularly pruned.
The tree then quickly makes foothills, which can be up to 2 meters long.
When the tree is often pruned it will not bloom.

The wig tree is not critical of where you put it, but if you want to enjoy it for a long time, you put it on poor soil.
With too many nutrients, it grows very hard, and from its joints.
Then he dies quickly.

The flowers of the wig tree consist of lots of small flowers.
The bulbs are (depending on the variant) up to 35cm high.
After flowering, a fluffy skeleton remains (see photo 3).
