A few times I did a song with piano and vocals. Every time, I find it very exciting to sing and play. Especially when you do it for the first time during a challenge. On the other hand, it is also fun to discover what you can learn from singing, playing and singing and playing at the same time. That is certainly not easy. For example, I was working on the song Yesterday by The Beatles. A sweet, sensitive, little song, but if you want to sing and play it at the same time, you soon end up with only the piano chords and then I don't like it. Too flat. So this time I didn't sing and play at the same time, but I first rehearsed and recorded the piano and then I sang the song. Personally, I like that better when you can hear the piano through the whole thing. I made the intro of the song myself and with the vocals you can also hear that I use slightly different tones here and there than the original. The singing can be much better, because I am also critical. I think my English still sounds too Dutch and maybe I should be a bit more daring here and there, but I also want to show you this development process, which is very exciting, but also fun, because you just have to dare and if I hadn't had your encouragement, I certainly wouldn't have dared. I hope you like it and feel free to sing along, because I think everyone knows this song. It was taught to you in primary or secondary school during music lessons, or at least that is what I remember.
