Beach umbrella

My daughter drew these pictures 2 years ago for a speech she had to make about a day at the beach.
I think as a family we will all remember the day for as long as we live.
It was a really hot day and we decided to go to the beach. We were there for an hour when the wind started to pick up, we didn't mind at first because the wind was welcome to break that hot sun a bit. But then it got stronger. The people sitting to our left started yelling something we turned to see what the commotion was and their rater large umbrella had just come loose from the sand and started flying away. While the people panicked at what to do, my husband got up and tried to catch it... only to miss it. He began to run after it and everytime he thought he had it the umbrella would blew further away. Everyone at the beach stood up to watch this unfold. Of course eventually everyone was also laughing, because it felt like something out of a comedy movie. This went on for quite sometime with a few failed attempts, which eventually led him to rugby tackle that umbrella down to the ground. At this point the whole beach began clapping hands for him.
It took my daughter 3 days to finish this poster and she still has it.

So what was the mistake? People often don't bury the stick of the umbrella deep enough, especially in a place like Cape Town where it can get quite windy.

@Adriana Thank you, yes she is my creative child. I actually took a photo of it at the time and sent it to my sister who had been here on holiday and so witnessed this too and asked her what she thought of the picture and she phoned me laughing because she said she knew exactly what the picture was about.
