A unique area where estates, dunes, bulb fields, peat meadows, villages and cities alternate. It is enormously diverse, always different and full of experience. With a little luck, you can see foxes, roe deer and seals. And that in the middle of the busiest populated area in the Netherlands. For example, walk in 12 kilometers along the 10 most beautiful spots on the Delfland coast.

Now I feel even more like going on vacation.! Indonesia is on my list, so a budget vacation? Good tips! One of me: ask people who have already been there for tips, often they know affordable shelters.

@Encaustichris Good tip !
I think you can find something for every budget via Airbnb, from an attic room to a villa. Of course, you shouldn't expect a luxury suite if you only want to pay 30 euros a night.

@enigma you can only expect that in Thailand 😉

@Encaustichris No, a friend of mine rents out 2 rooms in her house, for less than 30 euros a night. With breakfast.

good tips again. Indonesia is certainly not expensive but the air trip is hey. you won't get out of that.

@marijke You have to follow up airline tickets a bit, via Skyscanner, for example, and always via an incognito window because otherwise they will go up the height every time you log in. That can really make a few hundred euros difference if you book very early, for example.

@enigma
sure and also the day even cares. But equally, the tickets are generally the most expensive of the trip.

@marijke That's right. But, of course, you also travel thousands of kilometers.

@enigma
certainly to Bali we were always on the road from home to the hotel 24 hours.

In our culture, travel is considered a particularly pleasant and useful activity. But aside from the physical discomfort, travel is just a tendency to a physical or mental flight from reality. But also means escaping responsibilities. We are used to exploiting nature, just as we used to be our former colonies such as Suriname and Indonesia . But as colonized peoples revolted, so now the Earth is also beating back. If two weeks on a tropical palm beach are working therapeutically, then obviously something is wrong with your experience of everyday life. The supposedly liberating and expanding abode under the palms is nothing but wish fulfillment. Stay home, you'll be doing the planet a favor with it too!

@Hans I respect your opinion, Hans, but I don't spend two weeks on a tropical palm beach as a therapy to escape reality. I just love those areas where tourists can't be found en masse. Show more @Hans I respect your opinion, Hans, but I don't spend two weeks on a tropical palm beach as a therapy to escape reality. I just love those areas where tourists can't be found en masse. The spots where, for example, you just hit on foot. The fact that I (sometimes) have to take a plane for that is an unpleasant side effect. In return, I do my shopping on foot and go to work by bike. (For my husband, this is 60 km daily.)
Today I spent the day in a nature reserve, with a limited number of access options to protect nature. We went to it on foot and climbed to the top, along the rocks where it was allowed. It was quiet and we were surrounded by nature. That will work therapeutically.

Especially that first I was not familiar with yet, I'm going to delve into that. Thank you for sharing
