5 June World Environment Day
This is our moment.
We can't reverse time. But we can grow trees, make our cities greener, rewilder our gardens, change our food and clean up rivers and coasts. We are the generation that can make peace with nature. Let's become active, not anxious. Let's be bold, not timid.
World Environment Day. UNEP - the United Nations Environment Programme - has June 5 established as World Environment Day (World Environment Day) and has been held since 1974 to make governments, companies and individuals aware of our environmental problems. The annual celebration of 'World Environmental Day' takes place in a different city and has its own theme.
By modern science and technology, man is able to change his own living environment in countless ways and on an unprecedented scale. The protection and improvement of that environment is a major problem and affects human well-being and economic development worldwide. 'World Environmental Day' is designed to raise awareness of this and calls for responsible behaviour of individuals, companies and governments in preserving and improving the environment.
Date due to the start of the first international environmental conference in Stockholm from 5 to 16 June 1972 establishing the UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme). Today, World Environment Day is held in more than 100 countries, urging people to take action to save our planet. #milieu
