Angelique
Remember the French costume series Angelique, Marquise des Anges (Marquise of the Angels), where Michèle Mercier and Robert Hossein played the lead roles in. The series was set in the time of King Louis XIV. Five Angelique films were made, which were televised in the 1970s as series.
Angelique is in love with Nicolas, a peasant's son, but is married by her father to the wealthy Count Jeoffrey de Peyrac. At first she doesn't want to know about him, but slowly he conquers her heart and turns out to be the one for her. When Peyrac ends up at the stake because he is accused of sorcery, she loses everything and takes the law into her own hands.
