Birds in stress due to dry spring
Many meadow birds currently suffer from the dry spring. Due to the drought in the fields, there are no insects and earthworms have crept deep into the soil. Many dead meadow chicks are found.
Other species of birds also have a heavy. From my balcony I saw this black crow desponsively walking around the dry grass. Occasionally he stuck his beak in the ground, but much didn't come out.

To accommodate the meadow birds farmers can help by pumping water on their land here and there. People with a garden can also help by providing a pool of rain on the earth in a corner of the garden. This also attracts insects, which the birds use to feed their young.
