I came across this beautiful male chaffinch in a zoo last year.
Not in a cage, but free in a tree.

Finches have a short, conical beak. The male in breeding plumage has a blue-gray cap, an orange-red breast and cheeks.
The tail feathers are black except for the (white) outer tail feathers. The female is less conspicuous and is sometimes mistaken for a female house sparrow.

The chaffinch breeds in forests, parks and gardens. In the winter, finches often forage for food in fields and meadows. Finches can be seen everywhere, as long as there are trees nearby.
In spring and summer, you can find the chaffinch most easily by judging by its distinctive, descending song, with a short increase in pitch at the end.
