Gado gado recipe

Gado gado

Fresh beans I prefer to eat with rice. And then my favorite dish is Gado gado. Rice, beans, eggs, cucumber, carrot ribbons, chicken breast with garlic, ginger and ketjap manis. Some cropoque and fried onions and feast! You know what else is nice when you peel the cucumber? Then peel over and around a piece of skin lengthwise, you will get this effect in the photo below. Below you can read what you need for four people and the recipe how to prepare.


What do you need for 4 people:

1 pack of rice of 400 grams
4 eggs
1 cucumber
handful of carrots
400 grams of chicken breast
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves of garlic
1 onion
1 tsp ginger powder
2 tsp chicken herbs
big shot of ketjap manis
fried onions

Preparation (about 35 minutes)

Put a saucepan of water on the fire and let the water boil. Add the rice as soon as the water boils and keep the cooking time indicated on the package. Drain the rice and leave for a quarter of an hour.

Wash the onions and remove the dots and cook in a saucepan for about 20 minutes until cooked. Also put on a pan of water and cook the eggs for 8 minutes. Season the chicken breast with 2 tsp chicken herbs, 1 tsp ginger powder and 2 tablespoons olive oil fry the chicken breast over medium heat in a frying pan or wok.
Peel and chop the onion into pieces. Remove the skin and the ends of the garlic and cut into small pieces. Or if you have a garlic press, squeeze them out.

Add the onion and garlic to the fried chicken breast and fry for a short time. Add the cooked bean and a good shot of ketjap manis. Let it simmer gently for a short time. Peel the eggs and place them in the mixture and let it heat.

In the meantime, wash the cucumber and carrots and cut the cucumber into pieces and chop the carrots with a cheese slicer into ribbons or if you want the carrots finer with the grater. Then serve. Rice, beans with chicken fillet mixture, carrot ribbons, cucumber and finish it with some fried onions and crackers.
