Fifty shades of green: Tonight (December 12), the second of the Christmas boys will come by in Iceland!
The thirteen days before Christmas Eve come in Iceland according to tradition the sons of Grýla de trol one by one by the Icelandic children.
When the children have been sweet this past year, they leave a small gift.
If they were naughty, they'll find a potato the next morning!
Yesterday came the oldest, Stekkjarstaur: the sheep bully (it keeps trolling.), who is now on his way back to his mother, today comes number two: Giljagaur, the couple's biggest troll.
Giljagaur likes to hide in ravines and gullies, that's where his name comes from.
Giljagaur is a thirsty male, and he was out on fresh milk in earlier days, especially on the layer of cream that floated on top of the milk!
He loves animals, and therefore only sweets the milk, he leaves the animals alone.
Nowadays he finds the milk in the refrigerators of the houses, he doesn't like that much, that's not the real stuff anymore.
Children are therefore advised to prepare something delicious for him: he likes vegetables, a piece of meat, a nice glass of milk, sweets, or a nice piece of cake!
And now just hope he'll leave something nice.!
