#voedselverspilling “Six garbage bags full of chicken in the kliko, every hour. “ You order a chicken burger, blink your eyes, and you'll get it shoved on your tray. Normal practice in fast food restaurants. It's so nice, isn't it? You are hungry and want to eat - and rap a little. But it also has a downside: in some chains, six bags of meat disappear into the trash can, per hour. “I don't think that's normal.”

Research Wageningen 'Waste by consumers is much greater than thought'
Consumers worldwide are likely to waste twice as much food as previously assumed. That's what researchers from Wageningen Economic Research say. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) estimates that in 2005 one third of all food available for human consumption was lost or wasted. In practice, this would be a waste of 24 percent in units of calories. Eight of those 24 percent were wasted by consumers.
