Recently in my country Venezuela, to be more specific in the Zulia region it was a historic day, on January 23 Zulianidad is celebrated.

Although the history dates back to 1821, when the province of Maracaibo decided to completely separate from Spanish rule, it has been since 2002, every January 28, when the day of Zulianidad is celebrated in commemoration of this important date.

Several are the elements of the Zulian identity and that are the pride of those who were born in the western state. Among them stand out as symbols: La Gaita and the bridge; La Chinita, Santa Lucía and San Benito; guajira and oil; as well as the mandible, the patacón, the chimbo egg and the goat in coconut.

Historical elements of Zulia are:

1) El Puente General Rafael Urdaneta, also known as the bridge over Lake Maracaibo.

2) La basílica Nuestra Señora del Chiquinquirá: located in the center of Maracaibo, it is one of the busiest temples in the state.

3) "Relámpago Del Catatumbo": meteorological phenomenon that occurs in the Lake Maracaibo basin.

4) Historic center - Maracaibo Center.

5) El patacón zuliano: A maracaibo version of the banana.
