Infinite flower circles
At the end of last month I took a walk through a beautifully designed park in Apeldoorn: Park Zuidbroek.
Nature here is overwhelming. The colors are beautiful.
At the beginning of my exploration I see a few beautiful orange cups protruding above the ground level.
It's orange hawkwort.
Summer is at its peak. Many butterflies enjoy the many flowers here.
So I quickly spot two brown sand eyes that eat the nectar.
From a leaf, a motley sand eye looks at me kindly.
Insects of all shapes and sizes plunge on the various flowers like the lupine that grows almost to the sky.
In a shady corner, summer ray grows. The annual plant blooms in July and August with 1 to 1.5 cm large flower heads.
The inflorescence is a tuck with heads. The ribbon flowers and ray flowers are 1 mm wide, up to 10 mm long and mostly white, but often also slightly blue.
