Few years ago I visited Museum of Mammoth in Yakutsk, Siberia. And also one laboratory that is trying to clone mammoths and bring them back to life.
I saw and learned lots of interesting things.
Their teeth very really big and they ate 60-300 kg of food per day. It is a lot of food to find and chew in just one day! Molars had broad crowns with small linear ridges (you can see that on the picture).
A lots of remains such as teeth, hair, trunks or even entire mammoths were found in frozen soil (permafrost) in Siberia.
This allowed scientists to study them or even try to bring them back to life!
Ever since that visit, I can't stop thinking about it. I am curious to hear your thought about it...
Would you like to see mammoths come back to life?
Do you think it is smart or acceptable to revive extinct animals?
What are possible negative effects of that action?
