Models & art: interview with photographer Daniel De Kind - (Antwerp, Belgium)
When I made this call from @Henkjan the Warrior on Yoors, I had to @danieldekind (°1998) thinking.
Last weekend, I asked him where his great passion came from.
How was your interest in photography aroused?
Actually, I grew up with it a little. My dad used to carry a camera and take pictures of everything.
When did you get your first camera?
When I was seven or eight years old, I got a Nikon Coolpix. From then on, I took the plane everywhere: on school trip, in ski class... I put everything on the picture. This happened without much thought and certainly not with the idea of publishing something.
When did this start to get a more professional touch?
I was in first or second high school when a friend and a friend of mine got an SLR camera. I really wanted those too, so I saved up for it. My first 'real' device was a Nikon 3100.
I took pictures of a friend in the school park.
We posted the pictures on Facebook.
The positive reactions that followed led to this expansion even further.
On weekends, I went out with my friends to do photo shoots.

Did girls ask you for a photo shoot?
At first, they were just girlfriends. That was free.
But I started to do there too for a fee. I only asked for 2 euros a shoot.
When there was more demand, it became 50 euros and later hundreds of euros.
