Shooting the moon with details

Usually it is the full moon, and often a special moon such as the supermoon or blood moon, which is photographed. But of course you can just shoot a crescent moon, it doesn't have to be perfectly round, right?

A very tricky form of photography. The light conditions are very poor for the camera to measure. That means you really need to get started with the light settings yourself. Focusing is also best done manually, as it can be very difficult for the camera to focus. Then your lens keeps' looking 'for the right focus.
