Needle felting

Needle felting is a fun technique in which a piece of wool is pierced with a needle with barbs. The barbs push the scales of the wool together. The wool is getting denser, so you can make nice felt shapes with it. To make needle felting, you will need a needle felt block, a felt needle and carded wool. Carded wool means that the fibers are detangled and washed. From felt and wool supplier, we used meaningful Crafts cute little (cute) balls of carded wool in various colors.
With needle felting you can create 3D shapes, such as a mushroom, bird or whatever. You can prick wool on styropor shapes, or just form a figure with the wool. You can also make a flat patch of it, a kind of painting. You then use the felt block as a substrate, because the wool does not hook up with it. So without a surface, only the wool that you pierce flat.
We have done something else here, namely pricked directly on a flat patch of felt. The wool, by piercing, attaches itself through the felt and is then completely fixed. And that is what we have done today!
