I don't want to waste food. I keep leftovers in the fridge, always easy for the next day. Also, my husband brings leftovers, bami, nasi or pasta to work the next day. That's a nice hot bite at noon. I also give my mother when I have a surge, for example, lasagna. She then does not have to cook and to make lasagna for one person you do not do so quickly, so they happy, I happy.
I also think it's a shame to throw away. I don't think necessary for anything. Often the next day, for example: Sauerkraut, kale or other stews is delicious when baked. Often I find that even better than when it was just made.
Bread the same thing I have left, I'll make a nice grilled cheese.
And I really don't do it to cut back, but it's just a shame.

We eat almost always the same, we don't have a refrigerator and in summer only occasionally a freezer. We make enough for the two of us and if there was a leftover left, our dogs get the.
Because 95% of our food consists of fruits and vegetables, we therefore have to go to the store more often, which is fortunately within walking distance.
We don't throw away food either, there's always someone who can make you happy. We regularly give some dishes to our neighbors. Fruits that have become overripe are either thrown on the compost heap or at our neighbors, they make liqueur from it.
