How nice is it to decorate small papier-mâché animals together at your children's party? Fay turned 8 years old and she knows how fun it is! Together with her girlfriends and her little brother of 5 years old, there was enthusiastically crafting at her birthday party! All children were allowed to choose from several sweet animals to decopatchen, and there were also papier-mâché letters to choose from.

The pasting of paper is called Décopatchen, or découpage, a technique that has already been used in the past to give old furniture and objects a more chic look. You could, if you didn't have a lot of money, still give your old stuff a new and nice jacket, as if you had bought new things. Cabinets, vases, candlesticks, figurines, tables, in principle you can refresh everything with just some beautiful pieces of Décopatch paper. Today, there are many designs available from this thin special paper, which can be easily glued to all kinds of surfaces.

Fay chose the unicorn, which she had chosen days in advance, so just to be sure we had enough unicorns, because imagine the other kids wanted to decorate exactly the same as the birthday boy.! But that was not the case, but the children found it quite difficult to choose, because there were so many nice animals (and letters) on the table! Do you like to see how Fay and the kids made their animals (and letters)? Then look at the pictures below!

First, the animal (and the letter) had to have a white surface. Because Decopatch paper is translucent thin paper, you would otherwise see the brown surface. with a white background, the colors of the paper come out much brighter and fresher, so a white paint layer will give the best result!
