Sinterklaas Voorleesverhaal
This is a Saint Nicholas #voorleesverhaal for small children.
“Mom, #Sinterklaas arrives in town this afternoon at department store Strooiman”, says Hanna excited.
“Can Emma and I go there?” “What?” “Already this afternoon?”, says mother. “But then I don't have time to go at all, because I still have to... “Yeah, Mom, I know, you're busy, but Mom, can Emma and I go together?” “Well, struggles with Mother, isn't that a little bit... “No, Mom, we're gonna keep walking together, says Emma. “Please, please.” “May it?”
Mother says: “Well, let's go ahead, but watch out and stay together, because it's probably very busy in the city. “And remember, come home before dark.”
Hanna and Emma will walk to the city together a little later. They don't live that far from the city.
Once in the city they first look at the beautiful decorations for Saint Nicholas at various shops in the shop window. “Look, call Emma, there's Santa Claus!” “Where?”, says Hanna. “Well there!” Emma points to a pretty little candy shop. “No joh mallerd”, sighs Hanna. “That's just a mask from Santa Claus.” “The real Saint Nicholas comes to Strooiman's shop.” “Let's go through, because it's been almost three o'clock,” says Hanna. “Otherwise we'll be late and it'll be gone.” Quickly they walk through the busy shopping street on their way to Strooiman.
At Strooiman inside it is a hustle and bustle. The Sinterklaas music sounds cheerful from the speakers and Hanna sees that there is a sign that Sinterklaas is present on the second floor.
“Come on, let's take the escalator,” says Hanna. “I dare not,” says Emma. “What do you mean not?”, says Hanna.
“I'm afraid I'm taking the wrong step and falling off,” says Emma. “If you give me a hand, we'll do it together,” says Hanna. “I count to three, and when I get to three, you put your right foot on the escalator and then your left foot and then we go up like this.” “Okay,” says Emma and sigh. “I still think it's a little scary.” Once arrived at the escalator Hanna says: “Well, Emma, listen carefully, I say 1, 2, 3...” Emma quickly puts her right foot on the step of the escalator and then quickly add her left feed and sjoefff there they go up together on their way to the second floor.
“It worked!”, screams Emma with joy. “See you,” says Hanna. “Together we can do it.”
“Yes, thank you big sister,” says Emma. Once arrived above there is a large chair where

In front of and next to the chair are all #kinderen that are neatly waiting for them to be their turn. “Hello”, says Piet to Emma. “It's so nice that you guys are here.” “Do you want to #pepernoten ?” “Love”, say Emma and Hanna in choir. “Thank you Piet!” The sisters join in the line for Sinterklaas. After half an hour of waiting and having sweetened the candy, it's Emma and Hanna's turn. “Bye, dear children,” says Saint Nicholas.
“And what are you called?” “We are Emma and Hanna Saint Nicholas,” says Hanna. “I'm the eldest and this is my little sister.” “What beautiful, decent names you have.” “I'll see if I brought you another nice gift from Spain.” “Say Piet, you take a look in the bag if there is another #cadeautje for these two lovely children.” “Yes of course, says Piet, but then they must first sing a nice Sinterklaas verse for you, do you not think Sinterklaas?” “Oh, but we can as the best hear Santa Claus, says Emma.” “We can sing very well together and also if we are”...” Yes, yes,” says Hanna. “Let's sing fast now, otherwise it takes far too long and there are more children in line and I see that outside already starts to be dim and mother said”... “Well, sing ahead but”, says Piet. The girls are starting to sing. “Sinterklaasje, bonne, bonne, bonne. Throw some in my empty empty barrels. Throw some in my boot. Thank you Sinterklaasje!”
“You have sung beautifully,” says Sinterklaas. Then Emma and Hanna get their present. They unpack it quickly and each get a beautiful cuddly bear. “Oh, how wonderful it is!”, says Emma. “And so soft!”, says Hanna. “Thank you, Saint Nicholas!”, say the girls in choir. “Don't forget to put the shoe tonight”, says Saint Nicholas. “We will not forget that Santa Claus!” Quickly they give Sinterklaas another hand and then go down the escalator again. “And you know it,” says Hanna. “I count to three”... The sisters are going down the escalator again. “Day Santa Claus”, whispers Emma. “I'm very happy with my bear, thank you.”

Once it got out, it's already dim. “Now we have to go home quickly,” says Hanna.
“Mother said we should be home before dark.” “If we walk a little fast, we might be in just before dark.” Hanna and Emma walk through the shopping street along the many shop windows home. But then suddenly Emma says, “Stop!”
“Where is that candy store with the Santa Claus in the window?” “What do you mean?”, says Hanna.
“We've already passed that, right?” “No,” says Emma. “I didn't meet him on the way.” “Yes, man:, says Hanna a little impatient. “Come on, because it starts to rain a little too.” But after a while Hanna starts to doubt. Her sister is right, because Hanna is now seeing a whole different way. “Ehh, Emma?” “I think you're right and we need to go back, because this road doesn't seem familiar to me.” “But do we have to walk all the way back?, asks Emma. “I'm starting to get so tired and my legs hurt and...”
Then Emma starts sobbing softly. “I'm scared, Hanna, we're lost and I want to go see Mom.” “Come on, Emma, don't cry,” says Hanna. “If we stick together, we'll be fine.”
After walking for a while and Emma really hardly can anymore hear them from a distance approaching something behind them. “What is that?”, Emma shouts scared. “Ssssst... quiet!”, says Hanna. The sound is getting closer and closer. Tripple... trapple... suddenly a big shadow appears in the street. Emma starts screaming and drops her beautiful cuddly bear that she had received from Saint Nicholas in a puddle of rain. “No”, Emma cries. “My beautiful, sweet bear has gotten all wet and dirty.” Then suddenly there is a loud noise in the ears of the girls and they look up stunned. “AMERIGO”, call Emma and Hanna. “So, ladies, so late on the road,” says Saint Nicholas, who sits on the horse. “Hey, but wait a minute... aren't you Hanna and Emma who sang for me the beautiful Sinterklaas song Sinterklaasje bonne, bonne, bonne, this afternoon?” “Yes, that's right Santa Claus!”, says Hanna. “What are you doing out here so late on the streets?”, asks Saint Nicholas.
“We are lost,” Emma cries softly. “And I want to go see Mom.” Emma starts crying louder now, and Hanna quickly wraps an arm around her. “Come, come,” says Saint Nicholas. “Don't cry anymore, Emma, because I have a good idea.” “My Pietermen and I will bring you home safely.”

“I can't walk anymore,” says Emma. “I'm so tired and my bear fell into a puddle and has now become completely wet and dirty. “Quiet,” says Saint Nicholas. “You know what?” “Climb on the horse.” “Toe #Piet , help little Emma on the horse.” “Then she can rest for a while.”
Piet lifts Emma up and puts her on the horse. “How high am I!”, Emma screams. “Look at Hanna how high I'm up.” “Almost to the clouds.” Hanna laughs and says, “No, silly, not that high.” “But it's nice that you don't have to walk anymore.” And so Saint Nicholas goes with the Pietermannen and the sisters on their way to the house of Hanna and Emma. Sinterklaas asks Hanna what address they live at and then asks one of the Pietermannen how to continue their way. After a short half-hour walk, Emma recognizes the street where they live. “Look!”, calls Emma and points to a nice big house on the right. “There, by that white house, that's where we live!” “Look!”, says Hanna. “Mama's already standing in front of the window and waving.” Not much later, Mother runs out and hugs the girls and says, “Where were you?” “I was so worried.”
“Bye madam”, says Saint Nicholas. “We, my Pietermannen and I and my faithful friend Amerigo found the girls in one of the streets in the city. “They were lost.” “Oh, thank you, Santa Claus!”, says mother. “How can I thank you?” “Well”, tells one of the Pietermannen. “With coffee and pastry ehhh... peppernuts.” “That seems to me an excellent idea,” says Mother. “Sinterklaas, please come in with us with your Pietermannen.” “And Amerigo can stand in our front yard.” “Come on, Hanna, get some water and a carrot for #Amerigo . A little later they all sit inside the living room and drink coffee together. And the girls a nice glass of lemonade. A homemade piece of apple pie that mom baked. Emma still looks a little sad. Saint Nicholas sees that and asks her what's going on. Emma starts crying and says, “My sweet cuddly bear got all wet and dirty this afternoon and now I can't cuddle with it when I go to sleep later.” “Oh,” says Saint Nicholas. “There we have a solution for right Piet?” Piet, you take a look in the bag if there is a present for Emma.” Piet looks in the bag and takes out a present for Emma. Emma makes it up and sees to her big surprise a cuddly bear emerge. “A cuddly bear, a beautiful new bear!”, says Emma “Thank you Saint Nicholas!” “Now I can get a good night's sleep.” “Yes,” says Saint Nicholas. “And it has long been bedtime, we had to go, because we still have a lot to do not Piet.” “Well and if”, says Piet.
“Then may we have one more #liedje sing for you?”, say Emma and Hanna.
“Please!”, says Saint Nicholas. And so the girls sing the beautiful Sinterklaas farewell song.
“Day Sinterklaasje, day, day, day, day black Piet.
“Bye Sinterklaasje, day, day, listen to our farewell song.
“Day Santa Claus”, says Hanna.
“Dag Sinterklaas”, Emma whispers and she presses her cuddly bear firmly against her.
What a beautiful special day this was.
