Elke avond stel ik mijzelf nog deze vraag: waar ben ik dankbaar voor? Het is een meer een terugblik-vraag, maar aan de andere kant door hem elke dag te stellen verandert het langzaam wel mijn perspectief op de lange termijn op mezelf, anderen en de wereld.
Ik merk dat ik hierdoor, vooral doordat het oke is, veel meer energie over houd, dingen minder als een ' moeten ' voelen.
During lockdown when I would begin overthinking, I started asking myself
"Is there anything you can actually do to change this situation?No, then stop giving it so much space in your mind"
I still catch myself doing it at times, it's not easy to stop doing something you have been doing for years, but asking myself if I can change the situation or not at the time, allows me to either let it go or then start dealing with it.
Then another question I ask myself daily is "What have you done for yourself today?"
As a full time Mom and with 2 elderly inlaws to look after as well, I often don't make time for myself. Lockdown again taught me that I must also do something for me.
I now make a point to give myself some time out, even if it's just to sit with a cup of coffee on my bed and enjoy a few minutes of silence.
