Although a model railway is an exciting affair in itself, it is not complete without some extra tension, or: lighting in all the cottages in my miniature landscape. I used to use small light bulbs for that, but now I go for LED lights. This is safer, because LEDs don't spread heat. Also an advantage is that a power circuit on LED is a lot more energy efficient.

Under the houses, I drill holes where I pull the power wire, which I can then adjust to a transformer, which gives 10 volts AC voltage.

If I look very closely, the LED flashes very fast. If I'm going to pay attention to it, I hate that, I also give my residents some rest. The solution is to use direct current instead of alternating current, and with a bridge rectifier, that will also succeed after a lot of job.
