What are fun outings in the fall?
Autumn is always a 'tricky' season to plan outings. After all, you depend on the weather for a lot of things, and in autumn it's always the uncertain factor. But luckily there are fun outings for all weather types. Don't you know what you want to do in the fall? Get some inspiration below.
1. Visit a museum
Visiting a museum is always a good idea in autumn. You can extend the trip with a city walk or walk through nature close by when the weather is nice. If the weather is less, you'll be in the museum just fine. The Netherlands has a lot of museums and in every city you'll find something typical of the place. The most famous museums in the Netherlands are the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven and Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. With kids away? Then the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen is highly recommended. In the autumn break, there is even an Old Dutch fair.
Would you rather spend a day at home on the couch? Even then you can visit a museum. It is often possible to do a virtual museum visit today. See here to get some inspiration: Virtual Museum Visit: 10 Dutch Museums to Visit Online .
2. A Day at Zoo
A zoo day is also fine in autumn. The zoo never gets bored, especially when you're out with kids. There's always something to laugh and experience with animals. What's more, there's so much to see that you'll have an instant full-day fill. If it is very rainy, for example, you can choose to visit Sealife in Scheveningen. Visiting a butterfly garden is always a good idea with less weather. It's also nice and warm inside!
