Yoors Flower Parade, day 93: the Magnolia
The tree blooms in spring (April-May) from thick buds, which are quite hairy.
The most popular variant is the Magnolia Soulangeana, as far as I know, is that also the Magnolia in my pictures, which I made at my in-laws in the garden.
A Magnolia is a strong species, which can grow very old, and often blooms very richly.
The flowers are large, about 7 to 10 centimeters high, and after flowering the tree is full in the green leaf.
Beautiful trees and beautiful blossom, but when they fall out you have a pink carpet of leaves 🙂
