I am super excited about the challenges that we have coming up, I think we all were missing something new and exciting to get our creativity going again.

I have been really busy, but with school holidays almost here, I hope to take part in each round.

The first task is to make a post about someone that we admire.
At first I got excited, because isn't this just the loveliest gesture. To share something about a Yoors member that we admire. There will be so much love and positivity going around, and to be honest that is really what drew me to Yoors in the first place.

But then I also realised that it isn't going to be that easy to choose just one person, I am very fortunate to get along with many of the members here, who have always shown me so much kindness.

I may not be Dutch, I may not be living on the same hemisphere as many of you, yet I have never been made to feel like I don't belong or like I am an outsider. I have exchanged so many sweet stories, I have received advice about Yoors when I felt a little lost, advice about my new'ish found hobby, gardening...

So it would have been difficult and perhaps not true to point out to one as a favourite.

So today, I felt that @marijke  would be my chosen beneficiary.

Why do I enjoy her so much?

Simply put, it's because Marijke is someone who shares little snippets of her life, I like that, I like it when we can read a post and you just know that behind the words there is a real person with a real story behind it.

This wonderful lady always puts a smile on my face. I often read posts about her adventures with her husband Fred, about their travels; in particular about their travels in South Africa, which was how our exchanges and friendship started building.

She talks so fondly about her memories of her younger days, about her family and her grandchildren and in those posts you can feel the love and the pride that she has in them.

Her husband's name is often mentioned in her posts, their life story together sounds like a beautiful partnership, a relationship based on love, friendship,  understanding, respect and adventure.

And she may not know this, but sometimes when I travel around Cape Town I often think of her.

But mostly Marijke why I am naming you in this post and making you the beneficiary, is because I admire you.

I admire how you have lived your life.
I admire how your relationship works, you and Fred remind me that relationships can last a lifetime or as the youth say you two are "couple goals".

I admire the relationship you have with your children and grandchildren and I sincerely hope that one day, when my husband and I reach retirement age that I will be able to look at my life and see that I have all those things surrounding me too.

Afterall, family is our greatest gift.
