Flengeltje goes to school

Here is my entry:
The little girl felt a mix of excitement and nerves. She was excited to go to school for the first time, but also nervous about what would happen at school. She had a lot going on in her mind.
Would the teacher be like mommy, or would she be mean and shout all day long?
Would the other children be friends with her or would she struggle to make friends and feel lonely?
What if she missed mommy, would she cry in front of the others and would they laugh at her?
Would she get into trouble if she didn't know how to answer or do something the teacher asked?
What if mommy forgot to pick her up after school?
All these things were bothering the heart and mind of this 5 year old. Mommy held her just like she use to when she was a baby.
She assured her that everything would be fine, that she was a friendly, kind and clever little girl. That she was going to win the teacher and children over with all the love she has for people in her little big heart.
Mommy assured her that she would be outside of the school even before the bell rang at the end of the day to fetch her and told her that she was going to miss her just as much, but that she was excited to hear all about her day later on.
Then Mommy took out a little gift. "This is a secret code between you and me, whenever you miss me during your day, just take a quick look at it and know that I miss you too, but we will see each other again at the end of your school day".
It was then that Mommy took out a little Flengeltje and gave it to her. The little girl placed it in her bag, then gave her mom one last big hug before taking a deep breath and saying she was now ready to go to school.
This story is almost all true, it is about my daughter, we did have a secret code which was a kiss on her arm, she would touch her arm where I had kissed her whenever she got a bit overwhelmed in those first few days. I also tied a ribbon to her bag, so that she had something she could see and touch. When I saw the Flengeltje I immediately thought of 11 years back when her school journey started.
