E. was in love. As it often happens, love caught him by surprise. So, against all odds, E. took the risk of asking if she would take him with her.

Perhaps she was too proud, or unable to adjust to another way of life or to cope with the small deformity of E.’s trunk.

E. wasn’t sure of the reason why, but the case is she said no.

It is plausible that Time and a thirst for adventure will fix E.'s broken heart.
