4 good movies about relationships (Yoorsdecember #2)
For many of us, spending time with love ones and cherishing the close relationships in our lives is a big part of Christmas. And rightly so. Love adds shine and meaning to the golden ornaments and wreaths of lights adorning pine trees all over the world, and treats and presents become infinitely sweeter when we get to share them with the people who mean the most.
But relationships aren't always easy. They are tested by disagreement, by personal change, by difficult choices, by betrayal, even by time, and last but not least by the many trying circumstances we must all face at one time or another in our lives.
Since today's prompt for the #yoorsdecember challenge is #movies, I thought it would be interesting to write a post about four films that, in my opinion, do a wonderful job of portraying the complex interplay of dark and light that #relationships often bring.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Director: Charlie Kaufman
What happens when the relationship that once made you incredibly happy comes to an end and the pain is simply too much to bear? And what choices would we make if the best memories of our lives became intertwined with the worst? Is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all? These are some of the questions we are left to ponder as we follow the story of heartbroken Joel (Jim Carrey), who resorts to technology and science to erase all the memories he had of his ex-girlfriend, Clementine (Kate Winslet). A movie that sometimes feels like a dream, both poetic and beautiful, but that at its core is profoundly true to life.
