Achmed is gone...
A friendly, hardworking, Dutch-speaking man.
For privacy reasons, I can't say everything about it, but I know the man pretty well. I also helped him often.
Now, probably for family visits, he went to his homeland for a while. He has an EN passport. But also one of his country of origin. Now that country is at war. To eliminate possible prejudices; he is not a terrorist, is not in Syria and is not in ISIS. Now they're holding him there, perhaps because that country thinks he is and remains a national of that country. Possibly also for political reasons. A bargain to negotiate. Whether he can't 'just' leave or whether he is imprisoned is not yet clear. He's actually imprisoned anyway...
Meanwhile, his family is here, he can't go to work, the family has less or maybe no income at all. His wife is not yet very powerful in the Dutch language. Fortunately, their children are. His wife lost weight, came to tell her story... 😢 Also his old car is still at Schiphol Airport, an empty space in the parking spaces...
He is the epitome of integration... Please come back Achmed, you're missed here...
A lonely Christmas for the man... And his family. Where is Daddy? This touches me as you will understand...
