It takes a little time and I had to craft it for a while, but with a proud feeling I finally tightened the last screw. The adventure could finally start. Tense, I turned the ignition key. And yes: a soft humming sound sounded, the engine was running like a sun. Of course I didn't expect anything else. From the window I was able to see how my spaceship was slowly loosening from the ground, and then rising at ever greater speed. It didn't take long to see our familiar earth hanging like a blue-white-green marble against the black background of space.
The engines were even better than I hoped. Where NASA or Elon Musk are talking about a multi-month journey, my vessel reached the red planet after just an hour. After landing, I looked curiously around me. Red, dry and dusty. I proudly stepped around in my spacesuit and watched the first man-abandoned footsteps on Mars.

I didn't get far. A green figure looked at me from a bunch of tentacles.

Very carefully I stepped back a pass. I didn't get far again. Two of the tentacles were found to have an enormous length and grabbed me firmly.
