I wanted so much to learn the Sarabande of Handel.
My mother used to play this on the organ and later on the piano when she was young.
This is her book she played from. It's almost falling apart.
When I was a child I got this book from her I could play it a bit, but only the first part of the play. Then I put it away for years, this piece until last month. I had the book back in my hands and thought, “Why not try to practice the second and third parts of the play” And so it happened. and you can listen to the play in this video. It is a beautiful piece that was very narratingly composed by Handel. It is a bit stately in the beginning with a variation in the intermediate section and then in the third part has a mix of stately and playful. Sarabande means dance. It falls under baroque music. The piece was actually made for the harpsichord, but also fits well on piano and organ in my experience.
