De peignoir of duster zoals afgebeeld op deze foto werd in de jaren 60 en 70 veel gedragen door vrouwen en meisjes. Ze waren in allerlei kleuren verkrijgbaar en werden gedragen over een pyjama of babydoll. Een babydoll is een wijdvallend kort jurkje of hemdje met daaronder een slip of kort broekje. Tegenwoordig gebruiken we vaker het woord 'ochtendjas' in plaats van peignoir. Ook de stof waarvan de ochtendjas nu gemaakt wordt is anders, meestal badstof.
