Welcome to my blog. I am Madeleine and blogger at the platform Yoors and today I will take you on my quest to find out what SEO is, how to apply SEO to your blog or website and how to make sure you are better found in the search engines. I have also included a link with very relevant information. Information you will want to read and know in order to do even better. I'm sure these tips and information will also give you more insight into how important writing quality blogs with good content is. In any case, I have already learned a lot from them and I am happy to share this information with you. If you are interested in purchasing this blog, please send me a DM.
What is SEO?
SEO in short means search engine optimisation. The letters SEO stand for Search Engine Optimisation. For example, if you have a blog, a website then you need to make sure your content is found on the internet. By optimising your blog, website you are also doing Google and other search engines a favour. Search engines love blogs and websites that are well optimised. The best and most frequently viewed content will rank higher in the search engines. And that is what you and I want if you are a blogger.
After all, you want what you write to be read and preferably by as many people as possible.
And more importantly, almost everyone if they are looking for something on the internet is going to search for keywords to get the right information. So our job as bloggers is to make sure that that information is complete, so that a reader coming to your blog can find the complete information he or she needs, so that they don't click away from your blog or website, but linger. So make your blogs comprehensive and complete.
What is the best way to optimise your blog/website?
In any case, you need to make sure your website works well.
A website that loads quickly, because with a website that loads too slowly, visitors do not stay, but click away. Make sure you have a clear and attractive template with good headers, page layouts. Also make sure you have a sitemap. This is a document that lists all your internal links on your website. Basically a kind of table of contents of your website. You should also make sure your website is secure. You can do this by using an SSL Certificate.
This encrypts your data and makes it almost impossible for cybercriminals to retrieve data. An SSL certificate comes in both free and paid versions. If you have a website for your hobby, a free version is sufficient. If you have a business website, a paid SSL certificate is required.
And then it is also important to have well-functioning SEO urls. Make sure your urls are easy for the visitor to recognise and that they are not too long. Also make sure your page's keyword is incorporated in the url. This not only pleases the visitor, but also the search engine which loves clarity of your page.
Filling your website with quality content
Now for one of the most important parts of your website or blog. Make sure you write quality blogs in which the reader can find the complete information in answer to the question, keyword or title they searched for on the search engine.
Before posting content on your website or writing a blog, it is good to think about what you are going to write about and for which target audience. Who are your readers that you want to target? By using content strategy, you will add something to your content that your readers need. And you expand that by adding product sales, for instance, but you also need to do brand awareness, customer acquisition, make sure you have enough links, so you get traffic to your website.
So work strategically to achieve goals. Once you know what content you want to write about, you will also have to take a good look at what keywords your readers are searching for. Make sure you do keyword research. You can do this with several tools, including Ubersuggest, Google Trends, Semrush, Answer the Public, Keyword Sheeter and so on. Some are free, others paid versions.
You can also use both. Once you know what customers/readers are looking for then you can also start writing your content in the best possible way using the right keywords. The keyword is actually the customer/reader's question and your content should be the answer.
Linkbuilding
And then a definitely important and not to be forgotten part in the content strategy and marketing research of your blog or website. Make sure readers and visitors find your content so valuable that you get backlinks from other websites pointing to your website or blog.
Link building is necessary for your better ranking in search engines, including Google. The purpose of link building is to get more traffic to your website.
Conclusion
As you know, I am a fan of long reading blogs. And so is Google! I, too, am always looking at how I can improve my blogs so that it better suits the topic. I am also currently working on different seo keywords tools to see what I can do with them. I use Google Trends, Ubersuggest, Answer the Public and I try to free up half an hour or an hour at least a couple of times a week to just read about SEO. Anyone can learn to blog. You just have to put in the time and read a lot first. Then applying it to create complete blogs.
I think that if you make long blogs, then you will be fun for Google. Google likes you even more if you optimise and make the blog even more perfect. And that is what I find interesting. Even though I am not an SEO expert and I do not understand everything, I can still try something. If only I take a good look at the title, that I create a blog with Introduction, Core and Conclusion. Those are already starting steps that also have to do with SEO. I think we should not be frightened by the word SEO when we see it. The word looks very technical and you often think of: "But if we really want to grow as content creators, it is only beautiful and valuable if we can take these tips on board. After all, they have also been passed on by other people. From person to person, every time. In the end, everyone started out inexperienced, I think.
As I said, I am no SEO expert and some of the articles you read on the internet are a lot of information and sometimes hard to understand, but I try anyway. Even if I don't understand everything, there is always something in there that I can take away from it for myself. And then I stumbled across this article. I also have a lot of work to do! It's not only hashtags, but we have to think about the title we choose, but we also have to look at the template of our blog and use colon in our blog and also hyphens in titles or in the text.

Awesome!
@MAVADA yes I see what you mean, thanks for sending! I think it can be used both well. You have people who love to read long pieces and you have people who want to read a piece concisely. My experience that I had with a long post was that I ranked 20 in the search engine with that post on Google VS within 12. That was a cool moment, though.!
@MAVADA look and I'm mainly concerned with a good content post, because it's not Facebook, I think. It's very good what you tell us about seo, I don't have much knowledge about it, but it's always good to learn and it all depends on the title and how many words you have to devote a lot of time to this, apparently.
OK, nice explanation, I must say. But too complicated for me, I'm from the simple one. Don't like long blogs anyway, if they're too long, I'll even skip them. Sorry.
@Madeleine
I see that the word is hard to miss behind, but I think you had already filled in that yourself. I'm not at all that computer savvy as you are. And terms that I see passing by, I have no idea what that's about. But in my opinion, just pretty, your blog .💖
This helps the creator to make publications that are extensive in a more strategic way.? It's very useful the truth Madeleine I love your content more than you on Yoors! Please
Most very long blogs don't keep my attention long enough. It may well be that that's up to me rather than the blog. But today I've already learned new things in your blog!

And then waiting for you to appear in the results usually takes about 6 months before you are in the top thirty. Unless you promote the blog for a fee, you have a chance. A lot is written about creating content that scores, but most people are not going to succeed in scoring.
@Madeleine Great performance, but it is known that the 3 to 5 first in the search results may or may not be read. And if you achieve this result without SEO knowledge, this also means that SEO is a bit overstated. But very strong of you with such a result!
I have a collective blog since 2012. It will never be a great success but it has its admirers, perhaps because it is based on the consistency and seriousness of the contents.
What good information I don't know much about this and it's good to clarify what the process to make good content is like to be longer so that it has more value.
I only like long blogs if they really have a topic that I want to learn a lot about. I prefer the regular “house-garden-and-kitchen blog” with little text and lots of pictures.
I also read about SEO regularly, but always think that this is more applicable to my own website and less to Yoors.
@enigma (Annoying to see how I respond in Dutch and see a custom text appear when I want to post it. Words are missing and sentence structure is no longer correct.)
I read all the content wow! It's a great surprise to see something So Good! What I did without SEO is important, Thank you for helping us learn more about it Madeleine
It is something very educational because it gives us the topic of SEO plus there is of all that I would like to study it because the elaboration of long blogs catches my attention:D
although I like numbers, I'm not very good at writing or I underestimate myself, it's a matter as you say @Madeleine of reading a lot, working hard and being consistent,
Educational post! I sometimes find it difficult to keep my focus on a long post, or the topic really needs to grab my attention. I set up a promotion (queued) but then you know it's still coming 💐
@Kinderworkshops Petra you can also do both, english and dutch. I also do. Deepl.com is also a great translator and can work quite well with the free version.
