What's this doing to me?

Last night I was watching yoors and came across a pretty nice picture. A silence photo. A photo to take a good look at and work on you.

In retrospect it turned out that the photo in question was not an own photo, but picked from the Internet somewhere.. Too bad that I had responded, positive by the way and had given a heart to it, now it turned out that it was not 'own work'...

I had to think about that now that I'm just starting up the laptop..

We all know Pixabay. The site where you can pick up free images and that you can use in your blog, on your site, etc.. And I do also use a picture of Pixabay, just because I don't have that picture myself.

In fact, I have now also removed the header picture, which you can see next.

Indeed copying image is okay but it should tell something else and the picture is just a visual cue and a part of the post rather than it is the whole post. I agree totally with you on this one.

I also use those photos but i mostly try to write some good post regarding it.

Although I didn’t do it at first, now I mention they belong to Domz. Usually, first I think about what I want to say and then search for a photo but sometimes it goes the other way (I think that it is allowed to use photos that belong to a writing challenge without asking for it, but I will certainly comply with a different view from the author of the challenge). You wrote beautifully about how photos talk to us. In the case of your photo, to me it evokes peace and inner silence, moments of spiritual intensity. It also evokes some strong personal memories. Thank you.

When some one write out a challenge with photo's I'm sure they use pictures that you (have to) may use in your writing. But you never know iff they have the permission to use it... I think that is up to the one who started the challenge.

Always mention the source and if you are not sure if the image is free to use, do not ask or ask. What I do if someone from yoors it's where I saw a photo oid, is approach that person and when allowed, I put the picture or something in my story.. Sometimes just in exchange for some yp, sometimes in the beginning I set the giver as the beneficiary of my story.

Sometimes a picture fits perfectly with your story. And then I have no trouble borrowing it from Pixabay. Of course I always mention this. An empty church, by the way, is delightful. For me, that's the ultimate peace. I also love a chapel or quiet room, provided I'm there alone.

Als je inderdaad een blog maakt en/of foto plaatst die totaal niet van jou is, dan vind ik ook dat er een uitleg bij moet of een kort verhaal. Ik vind sowieso alleen een foto plaatsen niks, daar is Instagram voor denk ik dan maar. Vertel waarom jij die foto mooi vindt, dan heeft het plaatsen ook nut en kun je inderdaad hele mooie gesprekken krijgen. Dat is het leuke / fijne van Yoors, het communiceren met elkaar. Ik ben het dus helemaal met je eens!

Als je op Pixabay een foto 'leent', kun je het vermelden en kun je ook de credits geven aan de maker van de foto. Dit kan door een bijdrage, maar dit kan ook door gewoon de naam van de fotograaf te vermelden.
Ik had ook een hartje gegeven aan die stiltefoto - ik denk dat het dezelfde is, maar ook de vraag gesteld of het een eigen foto was.
