For a couple of years I had a painting lesson from Wim, a great creative man where my sister-in-law already painted and who took me to join. There were occasionally also models that we then had to check in a short time.

Just like with soft pastel chalk, charcoal can also 'sweep' with your hands to create shadows or soften lines. For example, you can make shades of gray using only a black charcoal. More like a drawing than a painting.
