Friend I met a long time ago. He's older than I am, but we were young.

By the way, Friend, somewhere, once told about his washing machine. A silly thing, if you look at life in itself. It lend something trifle. At that time the machine was about 14 years old, a Miele of course and he told me that it was such a good device, because it had been around for so long. You might recognize this. Something like that comes up once in a while, so does with us.

The years passed, we lived our lives, 'switches' jobs, went on vacation, up's and downs, and in the meantime there was this washing machine, like a silent witness. But I never forgot the “dumb “conversation we had about it. It was part of our acquaintance, where he bought it, as a student, where Friend was in rooms at the time, and so on. You look forward, full of plans for the future. And the washing machine in itself was nothing more than a device that was amenable to repetition. The next one's gonna be a Miele again. That way you think, but don't think about it. Why would you?

Until last week... Then came a remark from Friend, who hit me like a bomb... However, I did not show...
