Our nesting box
In our garden there is an oak. It is a beautiful tree, beautiful to look at and beautiful to sit under on summer days. The shade then protects against overabundant sunshine. By the way, it is wiser not to be underneath it in autumn, but that is a completely different story.
Oaks are also highly attractive for a less attractive animal: the oak processierups.
When we found a litter of this last year, we thought it would be wise to take action against this. We went for the natural solution. It seems that for great tits such a caterpillar is a particularly tasty snack, so I went to work with a building drawing of the Internet and the necessary materials.
You can see the result hanging against the tree next door.
And then wait and see if the great tits have understood it all.
Een leuk artikel, mooi huisje en heb ook wat geleerd: dat gewone pindakaas te zout is voor de vogeltjes. 👍
En is dit vogeltje geen pimpelmees? Dat dacht ik altijd..
