In mijn boek 'Ik wou dat de hemel openging' vermeld ik kort dat ik een wat gecompliceerde relatie had. Dat was onder andere in de tijd dat A different corner een hit was. De relatie duurde 'iets' langer dan de hit, maar het nummer heeft alle jaren een betekenis gehouden.
