As far as my experience goes, the most popular content in Yoors is not far too different from the content available in other social networks. Posts about self help, thinking positive, coaching, faith and clichés shown as epiphanies are the great manna. You can say the same about Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, WordPress, YouTube and the like.
This is OK. Yoors determines quality by the amount of votes, which is the same criterion everywhere, both in the virtual and the real world. In short, quality equals popularity, as concept. This idea is extended to the point of encouraging people to post about as much subjects as possible, even if they have no idea on what they're saying. Hence, the same pouring of clichés and unfounded opinions presented as facts we can find in other places.
Media and social networks, Yoors included, are places of popular entertainment, focused on providing audiences with the basic emotions required for catharsis. One gold pot is giving the idea of valuing the audience's opinion. This is the platinum mine of Yoors. People are paid to write whatever rubbish in posts and comments, as long as it is popular.
Don't get me wrong. This is perfectly legit. People are entitled to produce and absorb rubbish, to make profit from it and even to make it look like diamonds for marketing purposes.
There are real diamonds in Yoors, somewhere in the crowd, as they are in other social networks, TV shows and bookstores. The thing is, most diamonds are neither popular or profitable, because few people are capable enough to appreciate them. It all comes, as always, to the matter of the refinement of taste.
Yoors marketing strategy consists in this look alike diamond content and allegedly refined taste, giving the idea that all opinions are potential treasures, as in romantic pedagogy. One step more and we are all geniuses. Whatever you do you are a wonderful human being, as it is said on coaching for real estate agents, entrepreneurs and desperate unemployed people on the verge of suicide.
Nevertheless, I'll keep on trying to make money out of Yoors. It has the tremendous advantage of immediate earning. If this applies to both rubbish and diamonds, having rubbish taking the lead in spite of the marketing strategy saying otherwise, one has to live with it. The world has always been like this.

Let me tell you a bit about the history of Yoors.
Back then it was all about pageviews. The more pageviews you have, the more money you got. To me that wasn't constructive feedback. That means that I had to write popular content as you put it in your blog and that doesn't always equal quality content.
However, I would like to clear up one thing. We do not have a marketing strategy like @Madeleine says. We are just regular human beings who embarked on a project to find out a way to reward people for the content they create. We are very enthusiastic when we see new members and we show our appreciation for all content here.
Often we are seen as scammers and too good to be true, and that's to be honest the biggest challenge of Yoors. Because of that, users don't join. The real truth is this: We usually just sit in our bedroom scrolling through posts, clicking the heart button, promoting posts and are amazed of the good content we see at Yoors. We are amazed that humans have this much talent and hope we can only see more and more.
However we also see the loopholes, the things that go wrong and the struggles of some content creators. We don't ignore them, but we also don't want to aggravate them. For example, behind the scenes we are looking for solutions to preserve boosters but make them more accessible to the people who really deserve them. Votes and hearts should in no way be needed to earn money. They are just a tool to help you earn and also show appreciation to others.
@Henkjan de Krijger started Yoors not knowing what will all happen in these years of it's existence. Sometimes we notice that it indeed tends to go the wrong direction and attracts the wrong people, but we remain positive and try and improve from there.
Also we started boosters not to encourage users to create rubbish content, but instead motivate them to create quality content and therefore compete with each other fairly in the pools.
That was the theory, however practice shows of course that some people will embark on a mission to finish up the booster as fast as possible. They do this in teams and agree to vote on each other's posts in order to earn together. For Pools and Boosters V3 we are working on ways to break this and objectify the results of the pools.
However what you said about popular and viral content is true. This is true on every platform. Your content will be evaluated by the people present on it, and if they like a certain thing, they will stick to a certain thing.
Yoors wants to break this as much as possible by taking away the follower-principle and make your posts public and visible from the start, so anyone can evaluate your post. I can encourage you to continue posting and growing and see what works for you on this platform.
I also would love for you to be able to earn your monthly income with your illustrations. That's what we're going for for everybody for their own content.
@Domz also was experimenting with ways to become more popular with his illustrations. He can tell you all about it with what worked for him and what hasn't. Every week he tries a new strategy and sees what works and what doesn't.
However, Yoors needs to get way more users to see the real effect of being able to earn an income on Yoors. We need to become worldwide for this to work in full effect. And that we can only achieve with the help of the members by them recruiting whomever might be interested.
To be honest we are just sitting here behind our computers, getting super excited about the content and users that are present here on Yoors and want to keep encouraging the unique content that @Encaustichris mentions. We are also hoping that that's what will prevail on Yoors and we are genuinely hoping that the changes we issue will not worsen the problem but instead solve it for good.
I am happy that you still want to continue trying, because we have a lot of ideas that might fix a lot of these problems mentioned.
I think it's more about the contact with each other, and I see the ❤️ little more as a kind of encouragement.
or appreciation of others.. For me yoors is a hobby, with a money box..
- It would be good to create a strategy through a pool, booster, etc. that stimulates brainstorming to improve the quality of the site
- Each pool should give a brief explanation of what is concerned and be visible at all times in order to avoid mistakes by users
- I think the moderation system is not working objectively
Right now, a lot of (in my eyes) good content-makers are taking a break here, because their content disappears in the crowd and can not be found easily. I miss a lot of people who were here for a few years, since the beginning of the platform...
In the same way I try to show original content but with the demands of swimming pools we need to contain ourselves and talk about a specific topic just for participating; I think my best posts have been done outside swimming pools and unfortunately they have not had the visibility or response that I wanted to open.
Everyone has their opinion and their skills some use it for evil (I'm very sure of this) the important thing is that you remain you and don't let those members show you how to do things.
Yes, I'm one of those who put motivational content hehehe but many people need to do it both because it makes us feel good to let off steam as we want to help other people because in my case I hope that the person who really needs those words somehow or another gets to your screen.
I'd like to leave on yoors a little of what I've learned in my career, I have a few posts in mind but those would not go into the pool and possibly no one would appreciate them since neither crazy would offer reward.
Greetings friend.
