Fear knows everyone. It's a natural defense mechanism that keeps us from doing crazy, dangerous things. We can also feel fear when we can't count on one of our senses anymore. (Just think of being afraid of the dark.)

But we only speak of phobia when fear causes you to no longer function in harmless, normal situations. The fear causes a panic attack that is irrational, which causes your body to be blocked. Your body and mind are strongly opposed to the situation.
